USA: Greetings from Manchester, Kentucky!

It has been a miserable chain of bus rides and holdovers through MDC  Brooklyn, FDC Philadelphia, FCI Petersberg VA, and USP Atlanta GA, but I  have finally arrived at my destination: FCI Manchester, a  medium-security federal prison in Kentucky. It is good to be able to  breath fresh air in the yard and get in the groove of doing this time.

Those who were upset about the lengthy sentence, rest easy knowing  that it will not break me: I remain defiant as ever, and encourage  others to turn that anger into action. The purpose of their politically  motivated prosecutions is to try to deter and silence us, so it’s on us  now to up the ante: to escalate the struggle, to create anarchy.
Thanks everybody for having my back.
YOURS FOR THE REVOLUTION,
JEREMY

Ukraine: Autonomous Workers Union Statement on the Current Political Situation

acab   The laws which were passed on January 16th showed that the  faction of the ruling class which now controls the government is ready  to install a reactionary bourgeois dictatorship on the model of the  Latin American regimes of the 1970s. The “dictatorship laws” criminalize  any protest and limit the freedom of speech; also, they establish  responsibility for “extremism”. Parliamentary mouthpieces of the class  dictatorship of corrupted bureaucracy and monopolist bourgeoisie are the  Party of Regions and the so called “Communist” Party of Ukraine which  has long ago become a political force serving interests of capital.

TRANSPHOBIA AT EXARCHIA AND ELSEWHERE (AND EVERYWHERE!)

Last Friday, late at night, two trans women (members of queer trans) were subjected to verbal attacks and threats by several men at Exarcheia. Their silence was gold. Possibly! Had they answered or reacted, there would be another beating in front of the astonished regular guests of the square. How many of us would have reacted? How many would take a stand? This incident is just another reason to remind ourselves that being a trans is something that we need to justify, to defend, to be punished for, to have a good alibi, to have our eyes open, never walk around alone and generally to be very careful. This gives a representative example of women’s role in our society and the need for a feminist and anti-fascist education. [ENG & FR]Anarchist Kostas Sakkas was arrested again – L’anarchiste Kostas Sakkas a été arrêté de nouveau

sakkAnarchist Kostas Sakkas, who was arrested together with anarchist Alexandros Mitrousias in 2010 carrying guns, is accused of participating in the anarchist guerilla group Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, something that both he and the group deny. The Greek state held him imprisoned over the legal limit of 18 months and K.Sakkas struggled for his freedom by hunger-striking in June 2013.
Kostas Sakkas was arrested again on Thursday, January 16. This time, counter-terror police narration claims that Kostas’ fingerprints were found on objects at the house of Haris Hatzimichelakis, member of CCF guerilla group, arrested back in September 2009 during a counter-terror squad raid.
Greek police attempts to justify the hilarious fact that Kostas’s fingerprints, who was arrested back in 2010 and was kept imprisoned, were identified only today, almost 4,5 years later. Cops claim that although Kostas Sakkas was arrested and obviously thoroughly investigated by the counter-terror squad in 2010, they had no fingerprints of him.
A week earlier Kostas Sakkas was arrested again for presumably violating his restriction conditions, when he spent some hours overnight at a friendly house. Sakkas was released the next day since court cleared him of the unstable charge.
Solidarity to K.Sakkas

Mexico: Updates about the 3 anarchist comrades arrested for molotov attacks

This morning , 10/1,  we learned that Fallon, Carlos, and Amelie are now being held under a portion of Mexican Federal Law referred to as the ‘arraign’ that pekaggelaxalasmenarmits arbitrary detention without charge or evidence for a period of 40 days, which can be renewed one time, while under investigation by the Centro de Investigacion y Seguridad Nacional (CISEN), a branch of federal policing comparable to CSIS. During this period of detention without charge, our three friends are being held in a special detention centre under the authority of of the CISEN, and not in a regular prison.

The full implications of the their extended detention in this facility are not clear right now. However, it is likely that direct communication with the three arrested will be impossible, and we do not still know the limits on communication with our friends. Three compas are arrested and accused of causing damages.

On  Sunday, January 5, around 10pm two individuals dressed in black  attacked the building of the Minsistry of Communication and Transport  (SCT) and a Nissan dealership causing damages to offices and cars by  throwing rocks and molotov cocktails.

It is noted that during the attack  against the SCT, the guarding cops initially fired warning shots and  then directly against our compas but didn’t manage to wound anyone. The  general police directorate of Mexico (PGJ-DF) announced the arrests of  three people for the attack. Their names are:

  • Fallon Poisson (from Canada)
  • Amelie Pillierst (from Canada)
  • Carlos López Martin (from Mexico)

All of them have participated in numerous actions and initiatives of the anarchist movement.

They are accused for causing damages estimated to circa 750 minimum wages that is approximately 50 to 150 thousand pesos. Based on that and taking into account that there will not pressed more charges against them our compas can be set free after paying a bail of 120.000 pesos plus the compensation for the damage caused.

According to the latest reports, the Ambassador of Canada in Mexico visited our comrades and informed them that the Mexican authorities will deport the twocomrades from Canada as soon as possible. This has also happened in the past with Alfredo Bonanno and Gustavo Rodríguez. Therefore, Carlos López will bethe only accussed  therefore we call for every form of solidarity to be expressed.

In addition we do not know what will happen to our comrades from Canada as the ambassador did not want to give us more information. We are calling for a solidarity assembly today Tuesday January 7 outside the State Prosecutor’s Office at the metro station Camarones. The call is for 3.30pm.

Every solidarity action is necessary!

Stratoulis on hunger strike since 11/11: Latest medical report

2010_42655_58680_414x290        For the 4th time Spiros Stratoulis, on hunger strike for 59 days(since 11/11/2013), is transfered to the University hospital of Larisas, and for the 4th time he signs and leaves. According to his doctor Dimitris Mpampalis and his advocate Stratouli Konstantina Katsia, the treatment of the medical and nursing staff of the hospital until now is completely unethical, highlighting the right of the police forces to be at the place of examination and the prohibition of his personal doctor to have any contact with him.

Statement of the 11 arrested antifascists, members of the initiative against Xenios Dias and detention centers for immigrants in Greece

antifa affisch

“When on Saturday, the 28th of December 2013, we went out for a political intervention in the metro stations against the state-organised pogroms of “Xenios Zeus” and the detention centres for immigrants, we already knew who we had against us. A state that continually pushes towards totalitarianism and implements a racist immigration policy, conducted as a military operation. A police that not only legally enjoys excessive powers, but has the de facto right to ignore the law anytime and whenever it feels like it. The fascist/racist part of greek society which, to the extent that it coordinates with state policy, believes that it can say and do anything it wants against immigrants with absolutely no cost.

We also knew who we wanted to meet. Those who feel the need to confront the barbarism that is spreading, those who due to their position are in the receiving end of this violence. For this reason, a number of collectives of the area and of the centre of Athens decided to organise a number of similar interventions which will result in a demonstration on the 11th of January 2014. For this reason, we made sure that the texts, posters and leaflets that we were handing out were in 7 different languages. For this reason, we chose the multi-racial neighborhoods of Patisia, Ag. Nikolaos, Victoria as the area of our intervention. Neighborhoods in which there is a daily manhunt of the police against immigrants, and in which the holy alliance of cops/fascists/mafia and the racist “citizens’ committees” has written the most “glorious” pages of its recent history. Pogroms, racist attacks, mafia activities, constant police controls, detentions and arrests with colour as the only criterion, torture in the police stations.
