“To Horiatiko” and “Attika Bakeries” stink of violence against women and trafficking

On Saturday March 15, we paid a visit to three bakeries of the franchising company “TO HORIATIKO” in Omonia square and “ATTIKA BAKERIES” in Euaggelismos and Monastiraki in Athens. We approached the bakeries, we used of stink bombs in order to sabotage the food production, whereas at the same time we distributed flyers inside the venue to inform customers and people passing by about the background of the owners of the bakeries and what lies behind these companies.

In the following, we present the text from the flyers thrown into the bakeries:

Bakeries “TO HORIATIKO”, owned by Giannakopoulos brothers, are the show case of a money-laundry network that washes money from forced women’s prostitution, from strip clubs and “massage parlors”.

The swedish state is deporting regufees to certain death in afghanistan

afghan

Action against deportations in malmö, sweden.

It was only a few months ago that we were reading about “welcoming” sweden. The “organised”, “multicultural” and “tolerant” country of nothern europe which is embracing under her wings the “persecuted refugees from syria” offering equal “rights” of survival, directly promising a safe living. A country that for years “hosts” the earth’s wretched from the middle east, the former yugoslavia, kosovo, africa. Yes, we’re talking about sweden with the years of supposedly-liberal immigration tradition but also the millions of immigrants who have supported the so-called “swedish model” with their work. Let’s talk a little bit about sweden seriously, removing the cloaking image of sweden as a saintly hospitable country. Let’s see that – as in every state – repression and systemic racism is swept under the carpet. Continue reading The swedish state is deporting regufees to certain death in afghanistan

Yet another story of police/state strong-arm tactics and revanchism or.. is the Hellenic Police holding a grudge?

On the 11th of February, about 100 comrades gave their answer to the leadership of the  Hellenic Police, regarding the raids on comrades’ houses in Athens and Thessaloniki (read more here) carried out by the Security Police in an attempt to intimidate and terrorize the activists, and, therefore, the whole society.

Solidarity brochure about the persecuted anarchists of the Velvento case

STATEMENT-PART A:

A chronological presentation of the case

On Friday February 1, 2013, a double robbery took place at the local branch of the Agricultural Bank of Greece and the Hellenic Post office in Velvento, Kozani, Greece. Following a mass police mobilization in the whole area, one person was detained in the surroundings of Ptolemaida, and three more were arrested later on during a police chase operation.

From the outset of their arrest the four detainees – G. Mihailidis, D. Politis, N. Romanos and A.D Βourzoukos – declared themselves to be anarchists. The comrades were forced to stop a passing vehicle in their attempt to escape during the police chase. They avoided armed confrontation with their pursuers so as not to jeopardise the driver’s life.

Statement from the demonstration organizers against the Nantes airport on February 22

The mobilisation for today’s demonstration was unrivalled.

There were 520 tractors from all neighbouring districts, twice as much as the demonstration on March 24 2012 in Nantes. This marks the massive farmers’ invovlment who with their tractors are ready to intervene and support zad.

Around  63 buses arrived from all the regions of France, twice as much as the  the last protest, the one with the human chain around zad. This is a sign  of the mobilisation from all around France and the connection of Notre Dame des Landes  with other struggles against useless and imposed projects.

Open letter of the armed mouvement to the prefect of Loire Atlantique, M. Christian de Lavernée.

Dear Christian,

You stated yesterday that “the institutional opposition against the airport of Notre-Dame-des-Landes must stop being the legal reflection of the armed mouvement”. In that sense, the easiest way to go would be to accuse you, Mr. Prefect, of smashing shop windows. However and after Saturday’s demonstration, we completely admit and stop hiding: we are a beautiful and well-intentioned armed mouvement.

Greece: Collective statement of total objectors of military service – Deliverd at the conscription office of Ioannina – 17/02/14

On Monday morning 17/02/20124, a few dozen comrades supported an anti-militarist intervention by symbolically handing over to the military staff of the conscription office of Ioannina the following collective statement of total refusal to military service. Amid slogans and some bickering between antimilitary comrades and military staff (they would obviously prefer us to be mute and stand in salute…), we expressed our solidarity to M. Toli a conscription objector whose trial is on Friday 14/3 in Athens. The banners we hung at the entrance to the conscription office and the very act of publicizing another new collective statement of conscription objectors, spreads our message in practice: The more they repress us, the more stubborn we get, the more total objectors are persecuted, new ones will spring up taking the torch of refusal to enlistment.

Athens, Greece: Reports about screamings and sounds of beatings from the building right next to the Turkish Embassy

Ι left work at 11.30pm and I was marching towards Syntagma square, passing by V. Georgiou street. There is a building with a turkish flag just after Rigilis street. It is probably the building of the turkish embassy. I went straight on but suddenly I heard people screaming and sounds of beatings coming from the building next to it. There is a huge window by the ground floor, which was half open, and that is where the sounds came from.

I removed my hoodie -it was raining- and I went closer so that I could hear better. I stood outside this window for almost 30 seconds and then realized what was going on. Τhe streets around were blocked by police cars and cops in plain clothes. [It should be noted that the amount of police force isn’t something new in the area – there wasn’t any significant difference regarding cops’ mobilisation or the guarding of specific spots tonight.]

It is very close to the presidential house there are security cameras everywhere and one of them was right over my head. I could not do anything and I could not record the whole thing because then I would describe my own torturing. I left the scene, went straight home and tweeted the incident. Other twitter users informed me that this is where the turkish embassy is located. Unfortunately I did not recognize any language…
