General strike Greece 6/11/2013

[12.10] Athens: approximately 2.000 demonstrators gathered at the the Archeological Museum of Athens, mainly base unions of workers, anarchists, anti-authoritarians etc and 100 demonstrators at the GSEE/ADEDY (yellow trade-unions) at the Pedion of Areos.

[12.40] Athens: Around 10.000 demonstrators marched with the Communist Party, which had called in a seperate gathering from Omonoia Square, headed to Syntagma Square. By 12.00 the march had come to its end. The rest of the protesters counted 5 to 7 thousands and began marching from Museum.

[13.20] Athens: Today’s general strike is completed. A small group of demonstrators remains in front of the parliament, under heavy rain.

[13:35] Thessaloniki: The strike march ended at the ministry. Low participation considering the city standards. There were actually three different marches (PAME, Indeopendent Class march and base unions together with political groups, univeristy student associations and the Working Center). The march followed the regular course through the city.

[12:30] Crete, Heraklion: Around 2000 people marched through the city of Heraklion towards the building of the Prefecture of Crete. The march is taking place calmly.
